Husnu Suood appointed President of the Presidential Commission on Deaths and Dissapearances

Husnu Suood, our managing partner has been appointed today by the President Ibrahim Mohamed Salih to head the Presidential Commission on Deaths and Disappearances.

The Commission was established under prerogative of the President under the Constitution and given authority by the Act on Presidential Commissions and is mandated to investigate the deaths and disappearances that have occured during the past 7 years.

Previously Suood has held the Positions of Attorney General of The Maldives, Member of the Human Rights Commission, Chief Judge of the Civil Court, and Member of the Judicial Services Commission in addition to having served as an elected parliamentarian in the Constitutional Assembly.
